Welcome to my personal website.
It is a very exciting time for the Georgia Tech molecular beam lab.
Professor Walt de Heer together with postdoc Dr. Lei Ma and physics students are discovering new phenomena!
Last year we published a report in Physical Review Letters that indicates the first observation of multiferroism in small particles:

Multiferroic Rhodium Clusters

This year (2015) we started by publishing a large study of 35 atomic metallic polarizabilities. This is 1/3 of the natural elements!

Atomic polarizabilities of 35 metallic elements

But the best is still to come: We are working on two breakthroughs. One has to do with unexpected properties of gold and the other with a big piece of the puzzle of ferromagnetism.
